Läjet – A true gem
Läjet is a charming fishing village just south of Varberg. Stroll through the picturesque harbour and the cosy lanes lined with traditional wooden houses. Here, you can buy freshly caught fish, shrimp, and langoustines, while the popular ice cream café offers a selection of refreshing treats. Beside the fishing harbour, you’ll find a well-equipped marina with its collection of charming boathouses.
Läjet växer
The area has grown significantly in recent years, with a wide range of businesses, shops, cafés, and restaurants. Essential services such as a grocery store and healthcare centre are also conveniently located nearby.
Läjesviken is a popular destination for kitesurfing and surfing, attracting a new generation of visitors to the area. You can also reach Läjet by bike via the Kattegattleden – the scenic coastal cycle route known for its breathtaking views and unforgettable experiences.

Just a 1 km walk away lies Läjesviken, home to a beautiful sandy beach. The beach stretches for approximately 300 metres and is shallow, making it ideal for families with children. One of the piers features a swimming jetty, and the area offers modern restroom facilities, ample parking and a kiosk.
A little further along is Kagebäcksviken, another child-friendly sandy beach with shallow waters and scenic sand dunes behind it. Surrounded by coastal woodland, it offers a peaceful natural setting and well-maintained restroom facilities. Both beaches are officially designated EU bathing sites.
